Environment Secretary Andrea Leadsom announced on 3^rd September plans to ban the sale and manufacture of cosmetics and personal care products containing tiny pieces of plastic, commonly known as ‘microbeads’.

Each year billions of tiny beads end up in our seas from a range of products such as face scrubs, toothpastes and shower gels. These beads build up in the marine environment and can be swallowed by sea life, including fish and crustaceans.

Living With Environmental Change (LWEC) is pleased to announce the publication of its Biodiversity Climate Change Impacts Report Card. The Report Card provides a comprehensive overview of what is happening now in the UK’s countryside, the extent to which climate change is contributing to those changes, and what we might expect to happen in the future.
