Benyon to Chair UK Water Partnership

 

The UK Water Partnership has announced that Richard Benyon MP will take up the role of Chairman on 10 Oct 2015. The appointment marks another milestone for the organisation as it seeks to develop new opportunities for the UK water sector in a £500bn global market.

Outgoing Chairman, Lord Chris Smith, commented that the Newbury MP would be well placed to take on the role, having previously served as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs from 2010-2013.

New report on floods and droughts from the UK Water Partnership

A new report from the UK Water Partnership, Droughts and Floods – towards a more holistic approach has just been published. It can be found here with an accompanying blog by the leading author Jim Wharfe.

The UK Water Partnership is now exploring how to take forward the recommendation for a more holistic environmental approach to flooding and drought research, innovation and implementation, including opportunities for a range of ecosystem-related markets.

New champion for UK Water

 

The UK Water Partnership was launched today to promote the UK’s expertise in the sector around the globe.

The creation of the Partnership marks a dynamic new chapter for the UK water industry as public and private sector organisations join forces for the first time. Countries around the world require infrastructure investment – and underpinning it all is the need for reliable and sustainable water supplies.
