Recorded Flood Outlines of Individual Events contains the records of historic flooding.
The Environment Agency's Recorded Flood Outline dataset contains each individual flood outline in England and Wales. If a town has flooded for example four times and there are suitable records of this, the dataset will contain an outline for each separate flood event. It would be possible to overlay outlines on top of each other.

The Historic Flood Map merges together all the individual flood outlines from rivers, the sea and groundwater springs, so that at any given location there is only one polygon covering it, even if the location has flooded multiple times.
It therefore reflects the maximum extent of all the flood outlines on record, rather than any individual flood outline. These Environment Agency flood outlines cover England and Wales.

The live flood warning map shows the locations where Flood Alerts, Flood Warnings or Severe Flood Warnings are in force.
The Environment Agency issues flood warnings when it expects flooding to occur. The map is updated with information from EA flood warning systems every 15 minutes.

Boundaries derived from CEH's IHDTM are available for all GB gauging stations within CEH’s National River Flow Archive. Boundaries can also be derived for almost any point on the UK river network. Hydrometric area boundaries are also available.

Data availability: Available immediately via the NRFA gauging station information pages. Boundaries are to gauging station sites but a gazeteer is provided for selection.
A variety of canal-related data from the Canal and Rivers Trust including location of bridges, aqueducts, locks and other features. Can be used with the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology’s 1:50,000 watercourse network.
The Canal and Rivers Trust makes it data available through the Environment Agency's Environmental Data Download facility. Data types include -
1km UK monthly rainfall grids. Data is available for each month from January 1961 to date. The 1km monthly rainfall grids are created through a process of interpolating daily and monthly Met Office raingauge observations.

Hydrogeological maps at a national scale for England & Wales and Scotland bring basic geological information together with data on the hydraulic and hydrochemical characteristics of the rocks and their usefulness for groundwater supply.
